Start with the jobs your phone needs to do
Think through a normal day on this trip: getting to your accommodation, checking directions, opening a ticket and sending messages. Then add the things you enjoy doing, such as uploading photos or calling home. Those activities can lead to very different data needs, even on trips of the same length.
Look at your recent mobile usage before choosing a plan. As a planning example, 0.2 GB a day for four days comes to 0.8 GB. A 25% buffer brings that to 1 GB. This is an example budget you can replace with your own numbers, not a prediction of what your apps will consume. Our travel data guide explains how to build that estimate.

Every example above has at least seven days of validity. A longer validity can still make sense for a weekend when the allowance and price suit you. You do not need to use all the available days.
The amounts are totals for the plan, not fresh data every day. Open all Turkey plans if you also want to compare daily allowances or a longer stay.
When a little more data is worth it
In these examples, moving from 1 GB to 3 GB changes the price from €0.36 to €0.51. The validity also changes from 30 to 15 days. For a short visit, both cover the calendar; the useful question is whether the extra data fits your plans.
If you expect to share a connection with a laptop, estimate that separately. The selected examples list hotspot support, but a laptop can add background downloads and backups that were not in your phone budget. Reception and speed still depend on the local network, your device and where you use it.
Keep your allowance for the things you need
Save tickets, accommodation details and any supported offline maps before departure. Check photo backup, app updates and autoplay settings so a large transfer does not use the allowance you meant to keep for the day.
Choose the travel eSIM as your mobile data line and follow its roaming instructions. Check your home line’s roaming terms if you leave it enabled for calls or messages. Keeping your number is a separate decision from choosing which SIM supplies data; see using a travel eSIM with your usual number.
Adding another country changes the comparison
The Turkey examples here list Turkey coverage. For a trip that also includes Greece, Bulgaria or another stop, compare each country against the exact plan’s list. A Europe label alone does not confirm Turkey is included.
Our Turkey travel guide covers the wider planning questions. For a useful example of local versus shared regional data, read the Portugal and Spain comparison.
Choose your Turkey plan in the app
Open Stellar eSIM, find Turkey and compare the allowance with your dates. These selected plans list the first supported network connection as the start of validity; follow the exact installation and activation instructions supplied with your order.
Free Stellar VPN is included for your eSIM plan’s validity. Set up the separate VPN app using the access instructions provided with the purchase. In Stellar eSIM, check your remaining data during the trip and review the terms of any available top-up before buying it.
